I have always been interested in crafts and have tried my hand at many of them. In 2002 I discovered decorative painting quite by accident and was encouraged to try by taking a class. I was convinced I would be the one person that would never be able to do it because I can't even draw a straight line, however I left the class with a plate decorated with One Stroke leaves and rosebuds and felt very proud of myself.I continued with my classes travelling to Edinburgh every two weeks and with the help and encouragement of my teacher, Gill Foster (please see Links to visit her site) in November 2002 I attended certification with Donna Dewberry who created the One Stroke technique, which I passed and am now an OSCI (One Stroke Certified Instructor).
I have also attended classes at Decoart and am a trainee helping artist with them.
This has culminated in starting my own craft business, Crafterama. Although at present I am teaching various crafts, I would eventually like to specialise in decorative painting.
